Doris (Bildhauser) Schweickert, 88, formerly of Elizabeth Twp. Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2016 at St Mary’s East in Erie Pennsylvania after an extended illness. Doris was born on April 2, 1928 to the late August and Dora Wise Bildhauser in Clairton Pa. After graduating from Clairton High School she attended the Business Institute of Pittsburgh. She spent her working years as a secretary for a Pittsburgh Law Firm and Ervin Works Industrial Engineering. Doris married her beloved husband Clarence Schweickert on July 2, 1949 and raised 3 beautiful children.
She was a member of the St Michael’s Christian Mothers Rosary Group and the Senior Citizens Group. She also volunteered at the annual parish garage sale and Lenten fish fries. Doris was also a volunteer at the Round Hill Clothes Closet. Besides her family Doris enjoyed reading, crocheting and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Schweickert, son Daniel Schweickert, and sister, Mary Ann Bildhauser. Doris is survived by her daughters Deborah Stubenhofer (Dave) of Erie Pennsylvania, Linda Scheetz (Barry) of Naples Florida, brother William Bildhauser (Cathy) of Pittsburgh, PA, grandchildren Chris Scheetz (Joann), Brad Scheetz (Rachel), Julie Stubenhofer (Ryan), great-grandchildren Cody Scheetz, Cora Cammidge, Charlie Scheetz and Piper Scheetz and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the caregivers of St. Mary’s East for the tender loving care they provided Doris. Friends are welcome Tuesday, November 1 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Twp., (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director.
