Dorothy A. Conaboy

Willig Funeral Home & Crematory

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | November 05, 2023

Dorothy A. Conaboy crossed the Rainbow Bridge on November 3, 2023.  Waiting on the other side was her husband and soul mate, the late Thomas M. Conaboy.

Dorothy lived a full and fulfilling life.  Before becoming a resident of Asbury Heights in Mt. Lebanon, she lived in Liberty Borough and was a past member of St. Mark Parish and choir.  She retired from South Allegheny School District Food Service after 25 years of employment and was a graduate of Allegheny County Community College.  Dorothy loved to travel.  Her favorite trip was to Rome with her family to see the beginning of Christianity.  She enjoyed all the navy reunions with Tom.  An avid reader, no book was ever left unread, and the Sunday newspaper was never missed.  Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren and granddogs.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Sabados) Swabsky.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ralston.

Dorothy is survived by children, Suzanne (Edward) Karlovich, of Mt. Lebanon, Thomas M. Conaboy, Jr., of Bethel Park, and Carolyn Conaboy Persichetti, of Jefferson Hills; grandchildren, Norah and Colleen Karlovich, Carly and Vincent Persichetti and Michael and Artemis Conaboy; sister, Jolene (Robert) Miller, of Lancaster; brother-in-law, Milton Ralston, of Virginia; 18 nieces and nephews and granddogs, Hector, Teddy and Eli.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 11 a.m. until noon at Our Lady of Grace Church/St. Michael the Archangel Parish 310 Kane Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15243.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation and begin at noon.  Interment will be at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Braddock.  In lieu of flowers, Dorothy encouraged everyone to be kind to one another and pick up the phone and call a friend who you haven't heard from in a while.   On behalf of her family and friends, her spirit will be deeply missed.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com.  Charles Danforth, Supervisor
