Robert G. Fontanese, 71, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at UPMC East, Monroeville. He was born March 1, 1952 in Braddock, a son of the late Robert H. and Theresa (Schorr) Fontanese. Prior to his retirement, Robert worked as a machinist for Nuclear Automation and as an autoworker for GM. He was a graduate of Norwin Sr. High School Class of '70 and a member of St. Agnes Church. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports team fan, loved boating and enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He is survived by his wife, Diana (Kelley) Fontanese; daughters, Nicole Baker (Michael), Christi Simpson (Michael), sister, Sharon Bartolotta; grandchildren, Alexa Baker, Sloan Robert Simpson and Kai Simpson. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday at 9 a.m. in St. Agnes Church. Interment to follow in Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park, Greensburg.
