Ruth Mae Scurfield, age 92 of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 in Grandview Estates in Elizabeth Twp. Born June 22, 1931 in West Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late William and Marie (Briggs) Curry. A retired sales associate at J.C. Penney's in Century III Mall, Ruth was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, Clairton. Ruth always remembered everyone's birthday and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She loved doing crossword puzzles with her husband, loved to cook, and always made sure her house and lawn were immaculate. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Hugh B. Scurfield, who passed away October 29, 2023; her sister Laverne Mulvay; and her brother Palmer Curry. She is survived by her daughters Carol A. (the late Lemuel) Goodrum and Deborah L. (Jay) Jerome, both of Elizabeth; her grandchildren Tanya (Devin) Mock, Kristie (Ryan) Goodrum-Powell, Jennifer (Adam) Cavalier, and Justin (Alexandra) Jerome; her great-grandchildren Logan, Jaiden, Morgan, Domenic, Amelia, Jesse and Josephina; and also nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 2 PM until a 4 PM Blessing. Interment will be on Monday, December 18, 2023 in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp., at 10 AM. Please meet at the graveside if attending. www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
