Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | January 08, 2024
Donna Jean Spanitz, affectionately known as Jeanne, 75, of West Mifflin passed away on January 5, 2024 surrounded by family. Born July 9, 1948, she is the daughter of the late Stephen (Teppy) and Tess (Miscevich) Spanitz. She is survived by sister Marci (Robert) Lust of West Mifflin; and brother Steve (Celeste) Spanitz of Elizabeth Township; nieces-Kuma to Rebecca (Eric) Cubakovic, Amber (Paul) Spanitz-Czyz, and Robin (Josh) Stewart; great nieces and nephews: Quinn, Dax, Cole, Brighton, Espen, Ettie Jo, and Beckham. She was preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Joanne McEntire. Jeanne grew up in Duquesne, then resided in Churchill for many years where she made many lifelong friendships. She retired from Alcoa where she loyally spent forty years. She adored her cats and was an avid tennis and golf enthusiast, who enjoyed watching sports with her brother. Jeanne frequently traveled with her sisters and loved the water, whether it was a local pool, lake, or beach trip. The trips to LBI with dear friends were always the highlight of the summer for many years. Jeanne and her family stayed consistent with tradition and took their summer day trips to Keystone Lake with the next generation. Jeanne had a very special bond with her Niece Becky and great niece Quinn, both fortunate enough to be part of those beach trips where they had many long walks together along the water. Jeanne cherished “catching up” with her beloved cousins and friends over the phone. She was greatly loved and will be celebrated eternally. Funeral services and arrangements will be privately hosted by Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home.
