Born July 10, 1958, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Jane (Hamer) Cooper.  Amy attended Wittenburg University and graduated in 1982 from Penn State University with a degree in Education with an emphasis on Chinese language studies.  She then taught English as a second language to Chinese corporate executives' children, who adored her kindness and humor.  Amy always challenged herself with new learning opportunities and worked for a law firm, earning her paralegal certification to help people with disabilities obtain insurance.

Amy had a zest for life from an early age.  She found joy and fulfillment in the game of tennis, both as a player during her youth and later as an avid spectator.  Amy and Mark shared a love of history that their mother, Jane, a history teacher, had instilled in them.  The family embarked on numerous adventures, traveling across the country.  These journeys created cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for our great nation's beauty, history, and diversity.

Amy enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had a gift for making you feel special.  She loved talking to people and was very curious, so kind, and thought of others first.  Amy faithfully sent greeting cards for every occasion.  Over the years, Amy always had a faithful four-legged companion, Abbey, and then Courtney, whom she loved.

She was an enthusiastic board game competitor.  She loved flowers of all kinds, growing them, sending them, and receiving them.  As a young adult, she enjoyed her work at a greenhouse and, later in life, learned to weave.  She spent many hours creating colorful shawls and scarves while listening to her favorite radio stations.

She is survived by cousins Brian (Debbie) Joseph, Brad Joseph, Keith Joseph, Kevin Joseph; Maryan (Stan) Yoder, Elise Yoder; James Williamson, Jamie Williamson, Ed (Jean) Williamson, Greg Williamson, Elaine (Jeff) Fiant, and Joy (Russell) Delp.  She is also lovingly remembered by Joann McElravy, Susan Long, and Carol Barnickel, whom Amy claimed as "sisters," neighbors, and many friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mark J. Cooper.

Friends and family will remember her for generously sharing her time, talents, and treasures with others.  Her positive attitude and deep spiritual convictions, truly believing in God and knowing where she will spend eternity, were contagious.

To be with Amy was always enjoyable.  Amy will be missed by many and will always hold a special place in our hearts, knowing that her trip to heaven is only the beginning.  We will meet again.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 14, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1656 Lincoln Way, McKeesport, PA 15131.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com
