Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | January 27, 2024
Louis Anthony Campano IV, 21, passed away on January 25, 2024. Born on January 21, 2003, Louie was the son of Louis (Tricia) Campano III and Rebecca Campano ("Coach Frank" Cortazzo). In addition to his parents, Louie is survived by his brothers, Damon and Mason Campano; stepbrother, Julian Webber; bonus siblings, Frankie Cortazzo, Angelina Cortazzo and Faith Hresko; Grandparents, Louis (Tracey) Campano, Jr., Dean (Brenda) Gasky and Susan (Chuck) Readel; aunts, Amy (Pat) Fonner, Nina (Rich) Toomey, Theresa Campano and Aliya Campano; uncles, Russ Gasky and Tom Gasky; great-grandma, Liz Sacco; cousins, Christopher, Ricky, Deanna, Paige, Ellis, Brendan, Timmy, Jayden, Niko, Dominica, Johnny, Cole, Liam, Easton and Roman. Louie was preceded in death by his three favorite people; Uncle Dominic Campano, Uncle Rick Ingram and Aunt Threasa McIntosh, who undoubtedly were the first to greet him.
Louie was a 2021 South Allegheny graduate and was employed at Dellefemine Landscaping. He loved sports, playing football, the beach, fishing and spending time with his friends. Louie was a gifted athlete and would brag about "running your ass over" on the field. He played with such heart and grit, and was always loved by his coaches. He was witty, sarcastic, stubborn, opinionated and HILARIOUS. He lit up the room with a grin, a contagious laugh and sometimes loud, obnoxious behavior. He had the biggest heart and always had your back. He supported his friends and rooted for you. Louie had the personality that could not be ignored. Even if he pissed you off, you couldn't help but laugh and love him with all your heart. If he hit you at football, you felt it. If he loved you, you felt it. If you loved Louie, this loss will also be forever felt. Although his life was cut short at just 21, he lived it fully. If you were lucky enough to share even a short part of that time, you'll smile at the mention of his name and be able to tell a lifetime of funny stories. Friends are welcome Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
