Alan Keith Thomas, 63, of Hempfield Township, died March 28, 2024, at home. Born May 5, 1960, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Julian Randolph Thomas and Leona Helen (Kropp) Thomas and the husband of Amy (McDaniel) Thomas.

Alan was a proud Marine, serving his country from 1981 to 1985. He was a man of great generosity, known for his philanthropic endeavors and compassionate spirit.

In his leisure time, Alan enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, his favorite sports teams. He found joy in spending time with his son, Brian, particularly through their shared passion for playing video games. Alan will be remembered as an amazing grandfather who cherished every moment he spent with his family.

A lover of animals, Alan had a special place in his heart for his guinea pigs, fish, and his faithful feline companion, Chito. His compassion extended not only to his family but also to his beloved pets.

In addition to his wife, Alan is survived by his four children, Marie, Hugh, James, and Brian; grandchildren Mariah, Aaron, Andrew, Miranda, and Levi; brothers and sisters Randy Thomas, Cindy Tatters, Patty Dezi, JoAnne, and Gail.

Alan was also preceded in death by his sister Karen and his brother John.
