Thomas Layhue Jr., age 65, of White Oak, died on April 14, 2024, at AHN Forbes Hospital. Born August 1, 1958, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Helen (Bienkowski) Layhue.A dedicated contract administrator at the Virginia Department of Transportation for over three decades, he will forever be remembered for his unwavering commitment and expertise in his field.Beyond his professional endeavors, Thomas found joy in his passion for music. A talented drummer, he immersed himself in the music of his favorite band, The Rolling Stones, proudly engaging with fellow fans through fan clubs like Shidoobee with StonesDoug and Rocks Off. His love for music was a reflection of his character - vibrant, dedicated, and always in tune with that which brought him happiness.
Throughout his life, Thomas cherished his friendships, and his gratitude towards his many companions was a testament to the impact he had on those around him. Traveling to meet his friends was a joy that lit up his existence, and the memories created during these adventures will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Thomas is survived by children, Ryan (Alyssa) Layhue, Jennifer Ayers, and Christopher (Scot) Jones; grandchildren, Ian and Noah Ayers; brothers, Joseph (Linda) Layhue and John Layhue; a niece, Amy (Larry) Allen; nephew, Joseph Layhue; great-niece and great-nephew, Arionna Allen and Cameron Layhue; mother of his son Ryan, Terri Layhue; mother of his daughter Jennifer, Lori Layhue; mother of his son Chris, Jane Derewonko. Tom is also survived his beloved dog and buddy, Willie.
