Iris Gerendash Russ, age 65, of McKeesport, died on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She was born in McKeesport on November 7, 1958 and is the daughter of the late Marvin and Florence “Prissy” Hochhauser Gerendash. Iris was employed by the City of McKeesport from 1998 until her retirement in 2020.

She is survived by her children, Erica Russ of McKeesport; Josh (Jennifer) Russ of North Huntingdon; grandchildren Nolan Russ; Noah Russ; siblings, Goldie (the late Paul) Janusek of North Versailles; Mitch (Cindy) Gerendash of White Oak; and many nieces; nephews; great nieces; and great nephews. Iris truly enjoyed spending time with all of her family and sitting by the pool as a sun goddess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Louis Russ; and brother, Brian Gerendash.

Family and friends will gather at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. A burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in North Versailles.
