Gary Edward Czapor, 76, of North Huntingdon, formerly of White Oak, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born October 13, 1947 in McKeesport and was the son of Annette Helen (Novitski) Czapor and the late Edward Czapor. Gary was in the first graduating class of 1965 of Serra High School and would go on to attend Slippery Rock University, where he was a member of Alpha Chi Rho. Gary worked as a guidance director for over 30 years at Serra Catholic High School, where he was a longtime track coach as well. He had previously worked at St. Elizabeth School in Pleasant Hills. He was a fisherman and also loved to hunt. He was known as a great gardener and cook as well. He was an avid reader, who was known to read a newspaper cover to cover. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathryn Suzanne (Gillis) Czapor; son, Mike Czapor; sister, Connie (Chet) Ornowski; brothers, Richard and Edward (Felicia) Czapor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Brad Edward Czapor, who passed away October 8, 2020. Friends and family are welcome on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
