Carl Reynold Zappa Jr., 62, of Liberty Borough, passed away on November 17, 2016.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 1, 1953. He graduated from Allderdice High School. Carl worked for himself, as a painter, for many years and has been working as a painter for the Rivers Casino since 2010. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, gardener, and Pittsburgh sports fan. He was also regularly involved in various restoration and volunteer projects throughout the city, in conjunction with his job at the Rivers Casino. Carl is survived by his two children, Carl "CZ" Zappa III and Colt Zappa; his mother, Eleanor (Rozgonyi) Zappa; his sister, Linda (Zappa) Gobel; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his extended family and many friends. Carl is preceded in death by his father, Carl R. Zappa, Jr. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20th from 2-8:00 pm at Striffler's of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor, 412-678-6177). Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at noon at St. Mark Parish in Liberty Boro with Fr. Daniel Straughn officiating. Burial will follow.
