William E. Walicura, age 87, of McKeesport, died May 4, 2024, at Concordia at Cabot. Born June 20, 1936, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Veronick) Walicura.
William served in the Navy and was an inspector at Christy Park Works. He relished the thrill of watching horse racing at the Meadow's, with a particular fondness for the Kentucky Derby which was running the day he passed. An avid golfer, he found joy in watching golf tournaments on TV and football games, immersing himself in the excitement of the sport.
William embraced life's pleasures, especially relishing culinary experiences and trying new foods. His adventurous spirit and willingness to explore cuisines endeared him to friends and family. Known for his sharp sense of humor, William was uniquely able to bring laughter and lighten the mood in any situation, often playfully teasing those around him. His vibrant personality and ability to push buttons while always maintaining a sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by cousins, Melanie Melek, Albert (Lucy) Veronick, Evelyn (Al) Borrelli, Carol Veronsky, and Jan Havlik. He is also survived by his best friend, Lisa (Curt) Gray.
