Roberta L. Hudak, age 72, of White Oak, died July 7, 2024, at the Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. Born December 11, 1951, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jean (Grygo) Kushner and wife of the late Joseph Hudak III.

Roberta was a 1969 South Allegheny High School graduate who pursued her passion for nursing by attending Nursing School at McKeesport Hospital. Roberta's career was marked by impactful work as a nurse for the Bureau of Mines/NIOSH, where she conducted vital research on hearing loss and protection in miners. Her findings were published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, demonstrating her commitment to advancing healthcare practices and improving the lives of others.

After retiring from the Bureau of Mines, Roberta continued her compassionate service by providing nursing care to kindergarten and first-grade students at South Allegheny's Early Childhood Center. Her dedication and warmth endeared her to many, earning her recognition as one of South Allegheny School District's Fabulous 40 Alumni.

Known for her ever-present smile and generous heart, Roberta touched the lives of all who knew her with kindness and compassion. Her legacy of care and empathy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.

Roberta is survived by her daughters, Amy (Anthony DiLonardo) Beatty and Lindsay (Marc) Taiani; grandchildren, Noah, Kendall, Maximus, and Tiberius; a sister, Rebecca (Jay) Handra; and also nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers Gary and Kevin Kushner.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org/pa.
