Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | July 10, 2024
Keith Michael Lucas, age 63, of Liberty Borough, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024. Keith was born on December 17, 1960, in Southside, PA, to Dorothy W. (Sadlowski) Lucas of Liberty Borough and the late Thomas F. Lucas. He is survived by his siblings: Linda (James) Knefely of South Bend, IN, Daniel (Kris) Lucas of South Bend, IN, Phyllis (Charles) King of West Columbia, SC, Clinton Lucas of Clermont, FL, Hope (James Kevin) Pennington of McKeesport, PA, Howard Lucas of Liberty Borough, PA, and Ronald (Jill)Lucas of McKeesport, PA, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Keith is preceded in death by his siblings William Lucas, Thomas Lucas, and Beverly Widany.
Keith had a quiet disposition and was a man of few words. He was always willing to extend a helping hand to anyone who would ask and perform the task to the best of his ability. He was always a good friend, able to work with others, and made it fun at the same time. He never spoke unkind words or belittled anyone. He would communicate if he did not know a specific area instead of trying to fake it until you made it. A realist at heart seeing things as they were.
He was employed by Bates Construction Company where he took great pride and shared photos of the many home construction and remodeling projects he worked on. He had great respect and valued the father/son relationship with his boss George Bates. He dreamed of establishing his own construction company, calling it KML Construction Company, and having a value of 3.5 million dollars.
Always making the best of his time he loved to tinker with everything. He enjoyed putting together puzzles, model cars, and Lego 3-D sculptures and would build shelves to display them. He enjoyed browsing car magazines and watching TV shows about renovating older model cars.
He loved Rock and Roll music and was known as the super bad man, with only two gears, fast and faster, with no time to stop!
His famous breakfast was deep-fried home fries, sausage, and eggs daily. He did not follow the norm, he was a hot tea drinker, not coffee and Pepsi was his choice. He disliked pizza but liked Cheetos, chocolate, and Chips Ahoy cookies.
Upon retiring he seemed to find a place of peace, contentment, and happiness. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Family and friends will gather at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:45 a.m. A burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon, PA.
