Darlene Taylor, age 76, of Homestead, PA, was born on July 22, 1947. She departed this life on June 22, 2024. Darlene attended Homestead School District. She was employed as a V.I.S.T.A. Worker (VOLUNTEER IN SERVICE TO AMERICA) at the Rainbow Kitchen in Homestead and at Myriam's Shelter in Pittsburgh as a Resident Advisor. She belonged to the Women's League at the Salvation Army and enjoyed attending many functions at the Carnegie Library.

Darlene is preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Shanklin Adams, and brother James Taylor.

She is survived by her son, Ryan (Trina Oliver-Taylor) Taylor of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Latasha Taylor of Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV; brother, Melvin Shanklin of MN; sister, Frances Dudley of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Issac Raheim (Lynn) Anderson of West Mifflin, PA; Melvin (Lisa) Anderson of MN; Adolph Campbell of Pittsburgh, PA; and a host of other family members and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Place AME Church, 215 E 10th Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120. A burial will follow at Homestead Cemetery. Arrangements are being cared for by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
