Dorothy E. Frisch, age 97, of Baldwin, died at home of natural causes on September 14, 2024. Born September 4, 1927, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Larz and Dagney (Gafvert) Frisch.
Dorothy dedicated years of service to Bell Atlantic, starting as a telephone operator and retiring as a Supervisor, leaving a legacy of hard work. She loved to travel and took a great interest in her community. A compassionate soul, Dorothy deeply loved animals, particularly cats. She spent her free time fostering kittens from the Humane Society, spreading joy and comfort to those in need.

She was also an active member of the Scandinavian Society of Western Pennsylvania, finding community in celebrating her heritage. Her impact extended beyond her professional and volunteer work, as she played a significant role in the lives of her great-nieces, Michelle and Renee and great-great niece and great-great nephew, Olivia and Nathaniel, contributing to their upbringing and growth with love and care. Dorothy also passed on her knowledge of baking and making candy to her family.
She is survived by a nephew, John R. and his wife Kathy Frisch; niece, Donna J. Frisch; great-nieces and great-nephew, Michelle, Renee, Lindsay, Eric and Rebecca; great-great nieces and great-great nephews, Olivia, Samantha, Jillian, Nathaniel, Lucas and Wyatt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Calvin and her sister-in-law, Helen Frisch, and a niece, Joan Gorman.
