Carol Rose Knapton, 81, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024. She was born on October 20, 1942 in North Olmsted, Ohio and was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Habina) Hrivnak. She was the loving wife of James Grant Knapton, Jr. Carol was a graduate of Notre Dame College where she recieved a Bachelor's degree in Education. She was a teacher for many years in Ohio and Indiana before teaching at St. Dennis Catholic School in Versailles. She was a member of Mary Mother of God Church, St. Patrick parish. She was also a member of the WMBU Club and the Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens organization. She enjoyed reading, painting, crossword puzzles and trying new things. She especially loved watching and taking care of her grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Melinda Knapton of Blythedale, James G. (Agnes) Knapton, III. of Lincoln Borough, Andrew (Bernard Schilling) Knapton of McKeesport and Robert (Amanda) Knapton of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren, Mark, Natalie, James IV., Robbie, Ellie and Scarlett; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Brian Hrivnak. Friends are welcome Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
