Robert "Bob" Thorpe, age 74 of North Huntingdon, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his home. Born May 15, 1942 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Chester and Virginia (Olsen) Thorpe, and loving husband of the late Ruthann (Yencho) Thorpe. Bob was a graduate of Penn State University earning his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Following his graduation, he went on to start his career as an engineer with Duquesne Light Company, contributing more than 30 years of dedicated service.  He was a long-time member of the Penns Woods United Methodist Church, and was also a Shriner, Mason, Moose, and member of the Jacktown Ride and Hunt Club. In his free time, Bob enjoyed working with his hands and putting his engineering skills to use. His artistic talents were evident thru his beautiful stained glass work and all of his wood working abilities. He was often referred to as the family handy-man, graciously helping his family with various home remodeling projects that his son-in-law, Frank would get him into. Spending time with his two grandsons teaching them to grow vegetable gardens and sharing his knowledge about the multitude of tools in his busy workshop were some of his favorite pastimes. He is survived by his children, Robert (Regina) Thorpe of State College and Terri (Frank) Maglicco of Level Green; grandsons, Joshua and Justin Maglicco; sister, Norma (Tom) Hartwick of Texas; and his beloved cat Coco. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
