Virginia "Ginny" Kaylor Rollin, 94, of Carlsbad, California, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024. She was born March 25, 1930 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Helen (McClay) Kaylor. Ginny was the wife of 57 years to the late Donald H. Rollin, who passed away October 11, 2014. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Greenock. Ginny worked as a drafting clerk at the former Bell Telephone Engineering Department before becoming a homemaker. Ginny became involved with several organizations, putting her planning and organizing skills to great use. She was Past Mother Advisor of the former Elizabeth Assembly #120, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Past President Church Council of the former St. John’s Lutheran Church in McKeesport, and Past President of the Highlander Ladies Bowling League. She was a 50 year member of Order of the Eastern Star, most recently Clairton Chapter No. 316 and a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Rollin of Carlsbad, CA; nieces, Lyn Lucas, Lisa Rollin Berg and Karen Rollin (Michael) Berman, nephew, David (Karen) Borcik, and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret “Peg” Kaylor Lucas. Friends are welcome on Monday, November 18 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000. Funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with The Rev. Erin Evans, officiating. Entombment will follow at The Lebanon Church Cemetery, West Mifflin. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either Canine Companions for Independence (canine.org) or the American Lung Association (lung.org).
