Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | December 01, 2024

Elizabeth Ann Andre, age 88, of Liberty Boro died November 29, 2024, at home. Born in Morgan, PA, she married Michael Andre, whom she met while roller skating, a few years after high school and they started a family. Of all the gifts she shared with her children, perhaps the most important was her love of learning; it's no wonder that both Dan and Cheryl chose to become professional educators as important parts of their career paths.
Betty also worked for nearly 25 years as a waitress at several restaurants including her longest tenure at Skyvue Restaurant. She enjoyed baking, crafting, embroidery, and quilting, and was an award winning crocheter! She was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish where she attended St. Eugene Church and formerly sang in the choir and was a past member of the Christian Mothers. Although she was not a traveler, she found great joy in traveling to Luxembourg with her daughter to see the origin of their family and also visit some sites where her brothers fought in World War II.
Betty was especially fond of her Westie Rescue dog, Poohpee, and the two were inseparable.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Christopher) Andre; and son, Daniel (Tonya Fulmore) Andre.
The family is in deepest gratitude to everyone at Bridges Hospice, Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, and Stephanie Kutch, who tremendously aided Elizabeth's peaceful transition.
Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.
Friends and family are asked to contact the family for visiting hours, service time, and burial information.
