Karin E. Skiba, 76, of Port Vue, Passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born July 14, 1948 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late E. Kenneth and Jane (Miller) Palmquist.  She was the wife of the late Stanley P. Skiba, who passed away August 14, 2011.  Karin worked as a nurse at UPMC McKeesport and retired after 40 years of service.  She attended First Free Evangelical Church in McKeesport, where she was once part of the Women’s Ministries, Legacy Group and Senior Group there.  She was also a member of the Port Vue Seniors. Karin also enjoyed crafting and sewing.  She had a special and close relationship with her neighbors, who became like family.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Jason) Ewing; granddaughters, Jenée (Fiancé, Dominic Bonacci) Ewing and Arianna (Ethan Rendulic) Ewing;  sister, Kenna (Stanley “Butch”) Popeck; brother, Philip (Carole) Palmquist; brother-in-law, Thomas (Sandy) Skiba; nieces and nephew, Janet Kuzma, Keith Kuzma,  Annika (Brian) Jackowski, and Lauren (Jeffrey Ziegler) Palmquist; nephews, Kevin (Natalie) Skiba and Shawn Skiba; grand-nieces and nephews, Dylan, Savannah, Joshua, Adam and Caleb; as well as many friends and neighbors.  Friends are welcome on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director.  Funeral service will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with The Rev. Alex Ielase and Rev.
