Joseph Anthony “Tony” Sturkie, age 79, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016. He was born August 12, 1937 in Bull Swamp, South Carolina, a son of the late Marion and Gladys (Barr) Sturkie. He regularly attended the Broadway Alliance Church in East McKeesport. He was an Army veteran and went on to have a long career as a masonry contractor and land developer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughters Laura Lee Demeis, Donna Sturkie, and Toni Sturkie; brother Jimmy Sturkie; and sister Lois Morrow.

He is survived by his wife of over 56 years Audrey Jane (Tagliavini) Sturkie; daughters Sherrie Lynn Gibson of North Huntingdon and Sandra Lee (Dr. Michael) Hahalyak of North Versailles; grandchildren Anthony Kasunic, Jessica Gibson and Halie Tucci; great grandchildren Carlo and Dominic Kasunic; and sister Ruby Otto of Nashville, TN. Visitation and services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083.
