Joann L. Phillips, age 66, of Port Vue, passed away on February 6, 2025, at AHN Jefferson Hospital.  Born February 24, 1958, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Mary (Savage) Tamblyn, and wife of James Phillips for 44 years.

Joann attended South Allegheny High School and later pursued her education further, earning her Associate's Degree from the Community College of Allegheny County.  She had a varied career, working with warmth and dedication at Integra Bank, Super Duper, and Uni-Mart in Port Vue.  Eventually, she retired from a career with the United States Postal Service, where she served the West Mifflin and Hazelwood communities with pride.

Beyond her professional life, Joann was a passionate community leader.  She shared her love for guiding young people as a Girl Scout Leader and brought joy and teamwork to her community as the Director of the Port Vue Legionettes.  Her commitment to nurturing the next generation was evident in all she did.
Joann had an adventurous spirit, often seen traveling across the United States and Europe with her devoted husband, James.  Together, they embraced the open road in their RV and cherished long car trips that created lasting memories.  Cruising the seas and planning a long-anticipated trip to Alaska this summer were highlights she eagerly awaited.  Joann's love for exploring the world reflected her zest for life and her deep appreciation for every moment.
She is survived by children, Amy Jo "AJ" (Bob) Edkins and Robert (Stephanie) Phillips; grandchildren, Olivia and Gavin Edkins and Zachary and Ella Phillips; sister, Mary Lou Savage; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Grace Gesing Ernst and Reginald Tamblyn.
