Sophie Warabak, age 98, of White Oak, PA, formerly of McKeesport, PA, died on Sunday, February 9, 2025. She was born in McKeesport, PA, on February 7, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Nebesa Goscinsky. She was the wife of the late John “Trapper John” Warabak, who died on November 15, 2009. Sophie loved puzzles, reading, playing bingo, and going to the casino.

Sophie is survived by her children, John (Joyce) Warabak of White Oak, PA; Tess (the late Robert) Craig of Allison Park, PA; and Shirl (Gerald) Faychak of Finleyville, PA; grandchildren, Jeffrey Craig; William R. (Chris) Craig, Jr.; Erin (Luke) Williams; Brian (Michelle) Craig; Amy (Jamie) McDonald; and John Warabak, Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sophie is preceded in death by her siblings, Olga Takacs; Mary Goscinsky; Rose Kundman; Stella Kaloz; Anna Schultz; and Joseph Goscinsky; along with grandson, Carl Edward Elm, II.

Family and friends will meet for a service on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery Mausoleum, 1608 5th Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132. The service and burial will be officiated by Father Oleg Popyuk. Arrangements are being cared for by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
