George W. Morrison, 87, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday December 11, 2016. He was born September 19, 1929 in Wilmerding, a son of the late Earl M. and Lillian (Davenport) Morrison and was also preceded in death by his brothers Harry, Earl, and Richard Morrison. He was a retired tool and die maker for General Motors, Fisher Body Plant, West Mifflin, and a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, North Huntingdon. George was very active with the PAL program for many years and was a partner in the former Jacktown Sporting Goods.

He was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels. He is survived by his wife of sixty five years, Bunny (Rowley) Morrison; his children, John B. (Karyl) Morrison and Richard A. (Ellen) Morrison both of North Huntingdon, Jeff J. (Marilyn) Morrison of Irwin, and Linda L. (Robert) Acklin of Glendale, AZ; his grandchildren, Ian (Kim), Sarah, Erik (Lindsay), and Aaron Morrison, Lindsey Vojtko, Katlyn Watkins, Megan and Matthew Morrison, and Kyle Acklin; twelve great grandchildren; his sister Ruth Alexander of South Wilmerding; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in New Hope Presbyterian Church, 12727 Lincoln Way, North Huntingdon, with Rev. Brenda Barnes, officiating. Those attending the service please go directly to the church. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Norwin Area Meals on Wheels or New Hope Presbyterian Church.
