Dale W. Berger

Willig Funeral Home & Crematory

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | March 06, 2025

Dale W. Berger, age 87, of Industry, died at home on March 1, 2025.  Born February 27, 1938, in Frank, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Sacchetti) Berger.

Dale was a man of many talents and crafted computer-aided design (CAD) software to create technical drawings and blueprints as an electrical draftsman.  His intellect and creativity were matched only by his hands, which built his home with love and meticulous detail-a true labor of pride and joy.  This sanctuary became a testament to his skills.

From a young age, Dale exhibited a unique flair for artistry.  He would spend hours carving beloved Disney figures from soap.  He was a self-taught programmer and a tech enthusiast, demonstrating exceptional aptitude by building computers from scratch and sharing his knowledge with his daughters.  Dale found solace in his cherished Fender guitar, teaching himself to play and filling the air with melodies that resonated with his free spirit.

He is survived by children, Sandy (Michael) Smith and Mauna Sandin; grandchildren, Brandon (Anna) Smith and Lauren (Shawn) Bittinger; great-grandchildren, Forrest, Waylon, Canyon, and Wren Marie; sister, Ruth (Paul) Burda.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Glenn (Cookie) Berger.

Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com.
