Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | April 03, 2025

Don Plesniak, age 70, of McKeesport, died on March 27, 2025, at Southwestern Nursing Center. Born October 6, 1954, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Walter and Ruth (Williams) Plesniak.

Don forged a deep connection with nature that would remain a central theme throughout his life. He reveled in the tranquility of the outdoors, spending countless days canoeing, camping, and especially fishing. Whether casting his line in the Yough in Boston or enjoying the serenity of Pymatuning on a boat, Don found joy and solace in the gentle ripple of water and the thrill of a catch.

Don was not only an outdoorsman but also a talented craftsman who was adept at carpentry and remodeling-showcasing his eye for detail and dedication to quality. Don worked for many years with Central Sign Studio and Sign Stat as a fabricator and painter.

Don was a good bowler in his younger years, often found rolling strikes at the local alleys. His love for life was further punctuated by his appreciation for oldies music, frequently providing the soundtrack to his many happy moments.

Don is survived by siblings, Betty (Ernie) Titmus, Rose Marie (Randy) Johnson, Paul (Mary) Plesniak, Mary Ann (Donald) Lust, Joseph (Debbie) Plesniak, and Steve (Sue) Plesniak, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Charles "Chaz" Plesniak, Dan Plesniak, and Walter Plesniak.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 5 p.m. until the time of last leave at 7 p.m. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
