Alfred J. Tedesco, age 71, of McKeesport, died on April 14, 2025, at Riverside Health & Rehab Center. Born October 22, 1953, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Albert and Evelyn (Morell) Tedesco.
Alfred dedicated his life to serving his community and embodied the values of integrity and commitment. His journey was marked by a profound dedication to public service. He proudly served the City of McKeesport Police Department for 23 years, ultimately retiring as Police Chief. His leadership was characterized by a steadfast commitment to the safety and well-being of the citizens he served. In addition to his role in law enforcement, he contributed to the City Planning Commission as Chairman, playing a vital role in shaping the future of McKeesport.
An avid sports enthusiast, Alfred spent more than 40 years honing his skills in the Westinghouse Nite-Turn Bowling League, forming lifelong friendships and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among his fellow bowlers. He was also an avid collector of sports memorabilia and cherished the memories created during his trips to Las Vegas.
He is survived by a son, A.J. Tedesco; step-daughter, Jodi (Ray) Templer; step-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Owen Templer; niece, Lynn Braverman; nephew, Thomas Thorne; great-nephew, Nathan Thorne; his beloved dog, Benji. In addition to his parents and wife, Elizabeth, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Kula; sister, Patti Thorne; nephew, Jerry Braverman.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The Fraternal Order of Police service will be at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
