Emogene Wilson, age 89, of Port Vue, passed away on April 22, 2025, surrounded by her five loving children. Born September 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose Uhlir and wife of Lawrence "Larry" Wilson for over 68 years until his passing in 2022. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved being with family and friends. Emogene was an avid reader and always had a book nearby when she was at home. One of her favorite pastimes was playing a variety of card games with her family and teaching her great-grandchildren how to play. If there was a wedding or event with a dance floor, Emogene and Larry were sure to be out there together.
Emogene is survived by her sister, Rose (Bob) Gribbon of Manor, PA; children, Tim (Sandy) Wilson of Port Vue, Laurie (Martin) Cornelissen of Elizabeth Township, Stephen (Debbie) Wilson of Elizabeth Township, John Wilson of Port Vue, and Teresa (Dan) LaRoche of Port Vue; grandchildren, Deanna, Adam (Rachel), Kimberly (Ryan), Holli (Jeff), Joshua, Amy (Jess), Katie (Chalmers), Jake, and Ian; great-grandchildren, Logan, Nathan, Scarlett, Saylor, Parker, Lincoln, Kenzie, Lowen, Ayla, Tessa, Zyra, Eli, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Emogene was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Horseman. The family would like to
express a special thanks to the staff at Canterbury UPMC Hospice Care for all their compassion and excellent care. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 12 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church.
