Ryan Michael Stare, 45, beloved father, son, brother, uncle , nephew, cousin and friend passed away on April 24, 2025, when he ended his life after a long and courageous battle with depression, making the decision to leave behind his emotional pain. He loved all his family and friends dearly and they loved him. He will be missed beyond words. Ryan was born on April 7, 1980 in Long Branch NJ; he lived in the Pittsburgh area in Elizabeth Township since he was five years old. He graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1999 and from Pennsylvania State University Behrend College in Erie, PA in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in IT Technology. He had wonderful friends from high school and college that remained his close friends. His professional life consisted of working for General Electric, Ernst & Young, BNYMellon and lastly as the Senior Manager of IT Audit/Cybersecurity for City National Bank. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reid and Betty Mitchell, and John and Ruth Knoll.
He is survived by his two daughters, Josephine and Juliette Stare and their mother, Kerry Ann Fraas; his parents, John and Tina Stare; his siblings, Evan Stare and Shannon Hacha (Andrew); his nephews, Reid and Noah Hacha; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a beloved member of Peters Creek Baptist Church in South Park Township. His pastor shares: “Ryan was a kind and caring man; he loved his family, and he truly loved and cherished his daughters, Josephine and Juliette. Ryan was also selfless and servant-hearted, always concerned with how others were doing and offering to help meet others’ needs. One way that he served was by serving on the church’s security team during the Sunday worship services. Ryan was involved in various areas and ministries in the life of the church. He was loved by those who knew him and will be deeply missed by all.” Throughout his life he always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, often gaming and bowling. From his first plays at Elizabeth Forward High School (notably Bye, Bye Birdie and West Side Story) to his many plays at Behrend College, he enjoyed acting in theater productions. But his favorite thing to do was to spend time with his daughters whom he loved so dearly and of whom he was so very proud.
