Due to his promotional efforts, several Scotty trailers were featured prizes on the Price is Right game show in the 60’s. He was also the co-founder of Scottyland Campground near Rockwood in Somerset County. He was a member of Bible Fellowship Church, PRVCA, the NRA, and a former member of Norwin Rotary. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Aurelia Pirschl and Marcy Piazza. He is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Florence (Serro) Pirschl; children Gary J. Pirschl of Champion, Susan (John) Skundrich of North Huntingdon, and Anne (Henri) Degre of Greensburg; and nine grandchildren Noah and Pierce Pirschl, Lauren, Timothy, Andrew, and Diana Skundrich, and Brayden, Samuel, and Nicolas Degre. Those that knew Joe loved his witty personality and sense of humor. Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where everyone will gather at 11 a.m. Thursday for a funeral service with Pastor Robert Williams, officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
