James C. Brown, Sr., age 79, of McKeesport, died September 12, 2025, at UPMC Magee Hospital. Born January 22, 1946, in McKeesport, he was the son of Gladys Kelley and the late David Brown and husband of the late Moira (Shearer) Brown.

James dedicated many years of his life to ensuring the safety of others as a security professional. His tenure at Trinity in McKees Rocks, along with his partnerships with local police forces and various companies, showcased his commitment to serving his community with integrity and dedication. He also drove a garbage truck and a tow truck for work. Off the clock, James was a man who thrived on connections. He found joy in motorcycle runs alongside his friends and family, creating lasting memories on the open road. Known for his warmth and generosity, he cherished every moment spent in the company of loved ones, welcoming family and friends into his home with open arms and a welcoming spirit.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by a son, Gordon "Pete" Brown; step-daughter, Tracy Shearer; sister, who he named, Erma Jean Flohr; brother, Mike Ingram; and niece, Kelly Flohr, whom he entrusted to bring the family together and make sure Gladys is surrounded with support and care til they meet again; nieces, Serena, and Samantha Flohr who have been his constant support over the past 5 years. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved cat, Kitty. He was also preceded in death by a son, James Brown, Jr.; step-son, Gary Shearer; grandson, Robert "Bubba" Brown; brothers, Gary Brown and Kenneth Brown, Sr.
