Thomas R. "Bitsy" Callahan, of Liberty Borough, passed away on December 5, 2025, with his family at his side. Tom was born on May 21, 1944, in Sewickley, PA. He was the son of the late Leslie F. and Julianna Nagy Callahan; he was also the grandson of the late Thomas R. and Naomi Ruth Hitchens Callahan. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 60 years Nancy Steudler Callahan, daughters Michelle (Robert) Lee, Julie Anna (Terry) Doughty, grandchildren Robbie (Hallie) Lee, Cecilia and Callahan Doughty, great grandsons Caleb and Aidyn Lee. Tom is also survived by his sister Cecilia Zebroski, brother-in-law Fred (Judy) Steudler and sister-in-law Linda Uhrin and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Ron Zebroski and David Uhrin.

After 35 years of service, Tom retired from Equitable Gas Company. He then went on to form Callahan Testing and work alongside his brother-in-law Dave (Coalbed Methane Consulting) for 7 years. As if that wasn't enough, he went onto work and finally retired from ProLine Pipeline Inc. after 7 years.

Tom enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends and camping in Pymatuning with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Eleventh Ward Club and the Equitable Gas Division E Retirees Club.

Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon. Any bereavement gifts please donate to UPMC Children's Hospital or St Jude's Children's Hospital. Tom said, "It was a hell of a ride!"
