Alvin P. "Al" Miller, 80, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born on April 3, 1945, in Charleroi, and was the son of the late Clifton William and Mollie Esther (Hitt) Miller. A proud 1963 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Al went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He completed his service as an E-5 Sergeant and was the recipient of several military awards in recognition of his dedication and service. Following his military career, Al spent many years as an operating engineer with Local 66. Known for his strong work ethic and dependability, he took great pride in providing for his family. Though his tough exterior might have suggested otherwise, those who truly knew Al understood that he was a gentle soul, a “teddy bear” at heart. He was deeply caring, loyal, and always ready to show up when he was needed. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. "Pat" (Mann) Miller; children, Clifton (Jenny) Miller and Paula Miller; grandchildren, Katelynn (Brandon) Hillen and Gracie Miller; his #1 brother, C. Darrell Miller; and his extended family in Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cousin, John Dennis "Denny" Miller, who passed away, October 29, 2017. Friends are welcome on Thursday, December 18, 2025,from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000.
