Eugene “Spike” J. Crawford, 89 of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, departed this life Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in McKeesport.

He was born March 28, 1927 in McKeesport, son of the late Edward Virdier, Moody Crawford and Selena Sayles Crawford. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Crosby, brother, Edward Virdier and sister, Bonnie Thompson.

He was a life-long member of Zion Baptist Church, where he sang in the Men’s Choir. He was a proud United States Army and Air Force Veteran, who served during the Korean War Era. He retired from the City of McKeesport, where he was a Supervisor in the Sanitation Department.

He is survived by his wife, Donna G. Crawford of McKeesport; children, Eugene R. Crawford of McKeesport, Selena A. Crawford of Monroeville; Selena P. Crawford of McKeesport; Vince Crawford of McKeesport, Willie Crawford of McKeesport; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Janet Allen of Cleveland, OH, Beverly Edwards of Cleveland, OH, Darlene Norwood of Cleveland, OH
and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends will be received Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Zion Baptist Church, 1300 Locust Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania, where services will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Richard Truss, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
