Norma E. Gecan, age 92 of Jefferson Hills and formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 in Lawson's Nursing Home. Born December 20, 1924 in Courtney, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Caroline (Flowers) Stokes.

A member of Holy Spirit Church in West Mifflin, Norma retired after 23 years as a sales clerk at K-Mart in Pleasant Hills . An avid wine connoisseur, she was social member of the VFW Post #803 in Wilson, member of the Wilson Civic Association, and CFU Lodge #248. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Valentine Gecan, who passed away September 13, 2007, her son Wayne C. Gecan, her daughter Maureen Karr, her sister Ann Werner, her brothers Gorley and Thomas Stokes, and her sons-in-law Terry Meigs and Steve Barnett. She is survived by daughters Paula Meigs of Jefferson Hills, Valerie (Rick) Spencer of West Mifflin, Christine (George) Lion of Dormont, Colleen (Tom) Steimer of West Mifflin, and Roxanne Barnett of Clairton; her son Dale (Debbie) Gecan of Clairton; her seven grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10 AM in Holy Spirit Church with Fr. Patrick Barkey officiating.
