Mary E. (Gillis) Gaffney, age 82, of North Versailles, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. She retired as a registered nurse from McKeesport Hospital after 29 years, and was a long time member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 43 years John P. Gaffney, parents Robert and Christina Gillis, brother John Gillis, and sisters Patricia Gillis and Christina Kennedy.

She is survived by her children James Gaffney, John Gaffney, Maryanne (Michael) Sheehan and Daniel Gaffney; and sister Roberta Jackman. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in North Versailles.
