Mary Ellen Cowles, 95, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017.

She was born April 10, 1921 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Phillip and Mary Elizabeth Carr Tritsch.  Prior to her retirement, Mary Ellen was a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for UPMC Well Baby Clinic, McKeesport Hospital.  She was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Emerald Club, Christian Life and was an avid reader.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cowles in 1982; and son-in-law, Wayne Maglicco.  She is survived by her sons, Edward and Arthur Cowles; daughter, Kathleen Maglicco; sister, Sally Greene; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon.  Interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Penn Hills Township.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
