David L. "Dave" Meyers, 85, of Elizabeth Township, died Thursday February 2, 2017. He was born September 8, 1931 in Glendale, CA, and was the son of the late Nevin Donald Meyers and Madalin "Hope" Johnson Meyers Flood. Dave was a retired Systems Technician and worked for Bell of Pennsylvania and AT&T. He was a member of the Bell Pioneers, the Elizabeth Township Ex Serviceman's Association and White Oak American Legion Post 701. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
For his service, he received the Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and the National Defense Service Medal. He is survived by his wife, Catherine D. "Kay" Miller Meyers, daughter, Susan "Sue-Z" (Stephen Dolezal) Webster of West Mifflin, son, William "Bill" (Sandy) Meyers of Forward Township, grandchildren, Glenn (Brandi) Webster, William "Bill" (Justine) Meyers, and Ryan and Kelsey Meyers, great-grandchildren, Holden Webster and Kendall and Blake Meyers, sister, Rosemary Panuccio of White Oak, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David Roy Meyers who died September 10, 1974. Friends are welcome Sunday February 5 from 1-3 and 5-7 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director.
