Edwin A. Lang, age 90, of Liberty Borough, died January 30, 2016, at Senior Care Plaza. Born March 4, 1925, in Christy Park, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Emma (Hesse) Lang and the husband of the late Virginia M. (Baker) Lang.
Edwin retired in 1986 from the McKeesport Daily News, where he was a printer and composing room foreman. He also worked for the Veterans Administration, Immel’s and H.B. South. He was a member of the Liberty Presbyterian Church and a WWII Army veteran, serving during the Pacific Theatre.
He was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post # 701, a 32nd Degree Mason, with 65 years of membership with the Aliquippa Lodge # 375, Tall Cedars and Scottish Rite. He loved to boat, swim and water ski, many great memories and much of his younger years were spent at Deep Creek, around the water. He was meticulous when it came to attention to detail.
Edwin is survived by sons, Duane (Shari) of Port Vue and John (Sharon) of Baldwin; grandchildren, Sharina (Larry) Kohlhoff of North Versailles and Julie Lang of Baldwin. In addition to his parents and wife, Edwin was preceded in death by his friend of 18 years, Anna Mae Piotrowski.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, February 01, 2016, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Services will be held on February 2, 2016, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Karl J. Petterson will officiate. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
