Dominic Scappatura, age 94, of McKeesport died on March 3, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport. Born March 4, 1922 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Cesare and Michaline (Pietronigro) Scappatura. Dominic was a Veteran during WWII on The Essex. He retired from the Irvin Works steel mill.

He was a member of St. Patrick Church and attended mass daily at Boystown. Dominic loved to play the harmonica. Dominic is survived by his sister Mary (the late Albert) Cipicchio of McKeesport, and many nieces and nephews. Dominic is preceded in death by his siblings, Natale Scappetura, Philomine Madonna, Angeline Andreadakis, and Anthony Scappatura. Family and friends will be received at the Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday March 6, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday March 7, 2017, 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church. Father Matthew Elanjileth will officiate. Burial will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Patrick Church.
