John N. Tarle, age 91, of North Huntingdon died March 12, 2017. He was born July 26, 1925 in Coverdale, Pa., a son of the late Nicholas and Stella Cevitch Tarle.
John was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as the head architect by G. C. Murphy’s. John enjoyed woodworking, sailing and was a great story teller, teacher, and a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy McMullen; and brother, Joseph Tarle. He is survived by his beloved wife Erma Teck Tarle; two sons, Mark (Jennifer Mullins), and Brian Tarle; one brother, Ed Tarle and his wife Linda; one sister, Mary Corcoran; three granddaughters, Stacy, Katelyn and Michele Tarle. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, Pa., Tues 1-4 p.m. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
