Richard J. Abraitis, 68, of Apollo, died Friday, March 17, 2017 at the William Penn Care Center.  Born in McKeesport, October 10, 1948, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Mabel E. “Betty” Hagan Abraitis, Jr.  He was a retired heavy equipment driver, a member of St. James the Greater church in Apollo, the Apollo V.F.W., the American Legion in Vandergrift, and was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.  He is survived by 2 brothers, Michael J. Abraitis III of McKeesport and David R. Abraitis of McKeesport; 2 sisters, Loretta Nothdurft and Susan M. Cokain of Harrisville, PA; also by nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 on Monday from 3-7 PM.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church by Father Thomas Moore, OSB on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
