Paul Edward Dusi, age 91 of Clairton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in Jefferson Hospital. Born in Forward Twp. on November 8, 1925, he was a son of the late Giammari and Ida (Bositti) Dusi.
Paul is a veteran of World War II where he served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Dixie AD14 in the Pacific Theater. While in the Navy he received the American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #75 Daniel Keffer in Clairton and served four terms as its commander, a life member of the VFW Post #803 in Clairton, and a life member of the Sons of Columbus Santa Maria Council #4 in Clairton. Paul loved the outdoors, working in the garden, and picking wild mushrooms. After coming home from the war he joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 165. He spent his years as a carpenter working for Ceasar DeChicchis Construction and retired from Bayliss Construction. Paul was the husband of the late Helen C. (Juliot) Dusi who passed away on November 6, 2000. He is survived by his son Joseph Paul (Adrienne) Dusi of Clairton; daughter Lynn Marie (Barry) Mullen of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren Travis, Dane (Cory Hammonds) and Darienne Dusi; great grandchildren Travis, Joie,' and Dane; sisters Ida Jean Hanson and Antoinette Dusi of West Mifflin; brothers, Frank (Rodi) Dusi of West Mifflin, Alonzo Dusi of Elizabeth Twp. and Ernest Dusi of Apollo; and also nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Paul is predeceased by his siblings Katherine Heckman, Annie Rothey, and Andrew, Samuel, George and John Dusi. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Blessing will be held in the funeral home on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11 AM followed by a burial in Round Hill Cemetery. www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
