Mary “Marie”  Sladics  died peacefully on May 21, 2017 at the age of 96 in High Point, NC.  Born to the late Nicholas and Anna Vrabel in Benscreek, PA, Marie grew up with six brothers.  She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Sladics.  Marie is survived by her daughter Sara Dalton and her husband John of Archdale, NC; her son Louis Sladics and his wife Jackie of Westerville, OH; her daughter Mara Stephan of McKeesport; and by her brother Fred Vrabel and his wife Elaine of Portage, PA.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Monica, Lisa, Tara, Lora, Kevin, Jared, and Jena; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Marie was devoted to her church and family and loved to crochet and garden. Friends are welcome Thursday, May 25 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 26, at 10 am, at St. Angela Merici Church, with The Rev. Kevin Dominik, Officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph cemetery, North Versailles.
