Maxine M. Jeffries Walker, 72, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Riverside Care Center.
Born February 3, 1945 in McKeesport, daughter of the late Cephas Robert and Orie Mae Yancy Jeffries. She was also preceded in death by husband, Forrest Walker, Jr., son, Edwin Britt, and siblings, Beatrice Daviston, Elizabeth Curry, James Jeffries, Rosezella Tennon, Robert Cephas Jeffries, Ruth Arlene Owens, and John Jeffries.
She was a current member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, a former member of Trinity Church of God In Christ, where she also sang in the choir, a former member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she sang in the Inspirational Choir, was a Junior member of the Tina Taylor Guild, a member of the M.V. Prillerman Temple Lodge #1048, and also worked as a Nurse’s Aide for Riverside Care Center.
Survivors include children, Eric Britt of Duquesne. Robert Britt of White Oak, and Forrest Walker, III of McKeesport, PA, 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-7 at the Jerusalem Baptist Church, 12 S. 5th St, Duquesne, PA 15110, where services will be held Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Eric Johnson, officiating.
Interment will follow in the McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
