Lorraine E. Pipkins, 71, of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, departed this life Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Oakmont Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born October 13, 1945 in Clairton, daughter of the late Robert L., Sr. and Viola Pipkins and also preceded in death by siblings Byron Pipkins, David Pipkins, Sr., and Maxine Meade.

Lorraine was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio and a former member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Clairton. She graduated with her RN from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, worked as a Registered Nurse, and also worked for US Steel.

Survivors include children, Barry Pope of Newark, NJ, Troy Pope, Jr. of Vandalia, OH, LaJuana Pope of Clairton; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert Pipkins, Jr. of Clairton, Thomas Pipkins of Lower Burrell, Jeanne Pipkins of Dayton, Ohio, Gwendolyn Gadson, Janet Pipkins, Beverly (Jose) Stennett all of Pittsburgh, nieces, nephews,cousins, and many loving friends.

Friends will be received Friday, June 2, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Morning Star Baptist Church, 307 Shaw Avenue, Clairton, Pennsylvania, where services will be held June 3, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Gloria Ruffing officiating.

Interment will be private.

Arrangements entrusted to the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., Clairton, PA.
