Dona M. Sherbine, age 88 of North Canton, Ohio, formerly of McKeesport, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017. She was born in McKeesport on September 11, 1928, the daughter of the late James and Jean Skarry Guiser. Dona was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Joseph Sherbine, Sr., her son, Daniel J. Sherbine, Jr., and granddaughter Krista Cotter. She received her undergraduate degree from Carlow College and her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. Dona was a teacher at St. Angela Merici School (now Mary of Nazareth) for over 20 years, teaching science to 4^th through 8^th graders. She loved reading and the beach.

She is survived by her sons; James “Jay” Phelan (Susan) Sherbine of Vorhees, NJ, Paul Francis (Karen) Sherbine of Metuchen, NJ, daughter, Maura (Michael) Cotter of North Canton, OH, grandchildren; Sarabeth, Emma, Daniel, and Matthew Sherbine, and great granddaughter Riley Hunter. Friends and family will be received Friday, June 30, 2017, from 4-8 pm at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412-678-6177). A Mass will be held Saturday, July 1^st at 10 am at St. Angela Merici Church, with Fr. Kevin Dominik officiating. Burial will follow. Condolences may be made at www.strifflerfuneralhomes.com.
