Theodore "Hambone" Stanoszek, 91, of White Oak, formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully on Father's Day, June 18, 2017, in UPMC McKeesport. Born in Wilmerding Township on May 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Frank and Catherine Skrupa Stanoszek. Ted was a member of Holy Trinity R.C. Church West Mifflin, retired from U.S. Steel Duquesne Works, member of American Legion Post 0712 Dravosburg, past member of the G.B.U., former Moose Lodge #75 Duquesne, and V.F.W. Post 188 Duquesne. Beloved husband of 62 years of Margaret "Midge" Mihailoff Stanoszek. He is survived by his loving children Cindy (Dennis) Mitrik, Richard (Diane) Stanoszek, Dee Dee (Mark) Troutman, and Lori (Craig) Skovranko, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law George Mihailoff, many nieces and nephews and beloved dogs.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Edward, and Henry Stanoszek and two sisters, Genevieve Gavlik and Stella Knapp. Ted also loved watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and playing cards.
Family and Friends will be received from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM on Tuesday, June 20 and Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc., Richford and Commonwealth Avenues, Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 22, 2017, will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Thomas Lewandowski as Celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin.
